Makassar — The Faculty of Forestry at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) is finalizing preparations for its participation in the Unhas Open Day (UoD) 2026 through a progress meeting held at the Faculty of Forestry Senate Room on Thursday, January 22, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the First Vice Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Ir. Syamsu Rijal, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU, and attended by several lecturers and relevant technical teams, focusing on booth design, information delivery strategies, promotional materials, and event logistics.
The Unhas Open Day 2026 will take place on February 7–8, 2026, at the Unhas Sports Hall (GOR). The Faculty of Forestry is preparing a 3 x 3-meter booth designed to be fun, educational, and easy to understand, featuring forestry visuals, natural props, and an interactive flood model.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Syamsu Rijal, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU, First Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, explained that the event serves as a strategic platform to directly introduce the faculty to prospective students.
“The Unhas Open Day is more impactful because prospective students can see the faculty’s potential firsthand. The key message is the graduates’ career prospects—as planners, researchers, facilitators, and eco-techno-preneurs in multidisciplinary fields,” he stated.
He emphasized a storytelling approach based on products and experiences, both on stage and at the booth, beginning with the faculty’s profile video, followed by Q&A sessions, and the introduction of facilities and laboratories.
Meanwhile, Arida Fauziyah, S.Si., M.Sc., added that cross-unit coordination is a primary focus, including the collection of laboratory products, video materials, and digital promotional media.
“Information about study programs is presented via QR codes so visitors can easily access e-brochures. Visual materials and supporting activities are also prepared to enhance visitors’ understanding of the Faculty of Forestry,” she explained.
Through these preparations, the Faculty of Forestry at Unhas reaffirms its commitment to present an optimal performance at the Unhas Open Day 2026 while strengthening its image as an adaptive and innovative forestry education institution.
