The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), through its Academic and Student Affairs Division, held a meeting to accelerate the completion of studies for undergraduate (S1) students of the 2019 cohort and postgraduate (S2) students of the 2021-2 cohort who have not completed their programs on time. The meeting took place at 14:00 WITA in the Senate Room, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Syamsu Rijal, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU, faculty advisors, and the students concerned.
At the opening of the session, Vice Dean Prof. Syamsu Rijal reported that, based on verification results, there are 21 undergraduate students from the 2019 cohort and 4 postgraduate students from the 2021-1 cohort who have not yet completed their studies.
“The Academic and Student Affairs Division has officially notified the students who have exceeded their study period regarding warnings, progress of final assignments, and requests to submit a withdrawal letter if there is no significant progress in completing their studies by the specified deadline,” explained Prof. Syamsu Rijal.
He further emphasized that supervisors should actively encourage their students to complete their final projects, while students are expected to take initiative in consultations and guidance sessions regarding their research progress.
On the same occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Mujetahid, highlighted the critical role of supervisors in guiding students toward completing their studies. He also urged students to actively communicate any obstacles encountered during the final project process.
“Not only students at risk of exceeding the study period are being warned to complete their studies promptly, but students from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 cohorts also need to be monitored and guided accordingly,” he added.
