From Commitment to Real Action: Forestry Faculty Integrity Zone Team Shares Best Practices in Integrity Zone Development

Makassar — The Integrity Zone (ZI) is a designation awarded to government institutions that demonstrate a strong commitment to preventing and eradicating corruption, as well as improving the quality of public services. The development of the Integrity Zone aims to establish work units that are clean, free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism, while enhancing public trust in institutions.

As part of strengthening this commitment, Universitas Hasanuddin held the Kick Off of the 2026 Integrity Zone Implementation on Monday, 2 February 2026, at the Senate Room, 2nd Floor of the Universitas Hasanuddin Rectorate Building. The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin, and marked the initial momentum for all work units to align their efforts in realizing transparent, accountable, and professional institutional governance.

During the kick-off forum, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Hasanuddin, Prof. Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU, who also serves as the Chair of the Integrity Zone Development of the Faculty of Forestry, shared experiences and best practices implemented during the 2025 Integrity Zone development. These achievements reflect the Faculty of Forestry’s consistency in applying bureaucratic reform principles and its sustained commitment to strengthening integrity and improving service quality.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU emphasized that the achievements were the result of collective efforts by the entire academic community of the Faculty of Forestry. He stated that the Integrity Zone is not merely about fulfilling administrative requirements, but about embedding the values of integrity, transparency, and accountability into daily work practices. The Faculty of Forestry’s experience is expected to serve as an inspiration for other work units within Universitas Hasanuddin.

As one of five faculties representing the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology in the 2025 Integrity Zone Development evaluated by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Hasanuddin, has initiated several strategic measures. One of these initiatives is the development of an integrated reporting portal that serves as a transparent and accountable channel for reporting alleged gratification, conflicts of interest, and sexual violence, as part of strengthening the internal control system.

Through its achievement as a selected faculty in the 2025 Integrity Zone program and its active involvement in the Integrity Zone development at the university level, the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Hasanuddin, reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to be at the forefront of clean and integrity-based governance. The best practices developed are expected not only to strengthen the faculty’s internal performance but also to inspire other work units in realizing Universitas Hasanuddin as an excellent, integrity-driven institution oriented toward high-quality public services.
