During the first agenda, the Senate reviewed the proposed candidates for Head of the Master of Forestry Science Study Program: Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiaman, M.P., IPU. and Ir. The selection process was conducted in accordance with university regulations, requiring candidates to hold at least the rank of Associate Professor (Lektor), possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D.), be under 60 years of age, not be on study leave, and commit to a minimum term of two years. After verification, the Senate agreed that both nominees met the requirements and approved their submission to the Rector.

The Senate also deliberated on the proposed Heads of Laboratories, namely Prof. Muh. In presenting the 2025 performance evaluation, the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. A. These include increasing national-level student achievements and improving the number of students with TOEFL scores above 500. He also highlighted that Q1-indexed publications accounted for 30 percent of total publications, alongside improvements in academic mobility and laboratory and forest education facilities.

Responding to the report, Prof. Yusran emphasized the importance of measurable strategies to boost underachieved targets. “Overall, the faculty has shown strong progress. However, we need more systematic and focused efforts, particularly in strengthening student competitiveness at the national level and enhancing English proficiency as part of our global competitiveness,” he stated. In line with this, the Dean reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to accelerating accreditation processes, intensifying mentoring for national competitions, implementing reward schemes, and strengthening academic supervision mechanisms to ensure timely graduation.

The Dean further reported on the progress of the Integrity Zone (ZI) development in 2025, noting that the Faculty of Forestry is among the three representatives of Universitas Hasanuddin that advanced to the National Assessment Team (TPN) stage for the Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) designation. The meeting also approved the alignment of the K-25 curriculum for the Master’s and Doctoral Programs, including adjustments to credit loads and curriculum structure. Through this Senate forum, the Faculty reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening governance, academic quality, and institutional integrity in support of the university’s vision for global competitiveness.
