MKPK 2026 On Track: Forestry Faculty Strengthens Academic Regulations and Implementation Scheme

The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Hasanuddin (Fahutan Unhas), conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation meeting for the Mata Kuliah Pengembangan Kompetensi (MKPK) on Wednesday, 11 February 2026. The session served as a strategic step to ensure that the 2026 MKPK implementation runs in a more structured, adaptive, and policy-aligned manner within the university’s academic framework.

During the meeting, it was agreed that the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for MKPK implementation will be finalized immediately in accordance with the latest institutional format. In addition, a Technical Guideline document is targeted for completion within one week. This guideline will include detailed course descriptions, implementation mechanisms, and evaluation procedures as an official reference for study programs, lecturers, and students.

The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Syamsu Rijal, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU, emphasized that regulatory refinement is part of the faculty’s commitment to maintaining academic quality. “MKPK serves as a platform to strengthen students’ competencies. Therefore, its regulations and technical guidelines must be clear, systematic, and free from multiple interpretations. We want everything to be on track from the very beginning,” he stated.

The meeting also noted that students will return from the Community Service Program (KKN) on 15 February 2026. This timing is considered strategic for disseminating updated MKPK regulations, ensuring that students enrolling in the course can follow the improved procedures accordingly.

From an administrative perspective, several important issues were identified in the document submission flow, which involves Students–MKPK Team–Head of Study Program–Vice Dean. Some recommendations require revision, including inconsistent use of the term “internship,” incomplete activity proposals lacking detailed planning, and the absence of an approval page signed and acknowledged by the academic supervisor. The faculty reaffirmed that the official term to be used is “Academic Supervisor” (Dosen Pendamping).

Furthermore, the meeting clarified the MKPK scheme and nomenclature, including MKPK Non-Bundling, PKMR converted into Professional Ethics, and PKL designated as Internship/Work Practice with a weight of 4 credit units (4 SKS). This clarification aims to ensure alignment between learning outcomes and field-based activities.

Regarding funding, the meeting highlighted that there is currently no specific budget allocation for MKPK implementation, including operational and travel expenses. The faculty will explore possible funding schemes to support the program while upholding accountability and efficiency principles. Through this monitoring and evaluation process, the Faculty of Forestry Unhas reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that MKPK 2026 is well-prepared, well-managed, and impactful in enhancing students’ professional competencies.
