The Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas) is holding an Introduction to Campus Activities for New Students (PKKMB) in 2024 with the theme “Young Unhas Foresters are Empowered, Working for Sustainable and Sustainable Forests”. The activity took place starting at 08.00 WITA in the 1st Floor Hall of the Faculty of Forestry Unhas, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, Tuesday (13/8/2024).
Starting the activities of the Chair of the 2024 PKKMB Committee, Iswanto, S.Hut., M.Si. in its report stated that the number of new students from the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas in 2024 was 418, consisting of 273 students from the Forestry Study Program, 84 students from the Forestry Engineering Study Program and 61 students from the Forest Conservation Study Program.
“Every year the number of students at the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, is increasing and this year there are 418. Be proud of being able to qualify for the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, one of the faculties that has learning facilities in the forest, namely KHDTK Forest Education, a place for students of the Faculty of Forestry to study outside the campus. “It’s not necessarily something students from other faculties can get,” said Iswanto.
Iswanto further said that the PKKMB 2024 theme this time has the meaning that new students are prospective young foresters who must instill in themselves the ability to continue working in sustainable forest conservation.

You should be proud to be a student at the Faculty of Forestry because based on the national ranking, this faculty is in position 3 and is in position 301 on the international scale based on the QS ranking by subject.
“You must not be humble because you were accepted into the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, you must be proud because this faculty has many achievements, not only from national and international rankings, also achievements in managing journals that have been indexed by Scopus Q1, namely the journal Forest and Society and national and collaboration internationally,” said A. Mujetahid.
Dr. A. Mujetahid said that the achievements achieved by the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, starting from national and international rankings, journal management and collaboration were due to the extraordinary contributions of students.
After the speech and official opening of the activity by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas. The activity then continued with the presentation of material regarding introduction to academics and student affairs, student code of ethics, facilities and infrastructure, and cooperation with the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University.
The activity will last until 17.00 WITA and will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, August 14 2024.
