Malaysia-Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU accompanied by the Deputy Dean for Partnership, Research and Innovation, Faculty of Forestry Unhas, Syahidah, S.Hut., M.Sc., IPU. and two staff from the Faculty of Forestry, namely, Muhammad Supriadi, S.Kom. and Andi Prastyo, S. Hut. made visits to several potential universities in Malaysia which occupy the best positions in the world.
Some of the universities in Malaysia visited are Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), University Technology Mara (UiTM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).
The first university visited by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas and his entourage, was Universiti Technology Mara (UiTM), which is a university in Malaysia that occupies position 587 in the QS World University Rankings. His arrival was welcomed by the Chancellor of UiTM, Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Nazip Suratman.
Some of the agenda for this visit is the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Applied Science (FSGI) UiTM and the Faculty of Forestry Unhas in the field of Academic Agreement, follow-up discussions on double degrees between the Forestry Study Program and the School of Biology FSGI UiTM, discussions on joint research and joint publications , staff and student mobility, joint supervisor and joint lecturer.
The results of the discussions discussed at UiTM are the implementation of the initiation of joint research collaboration and joint publication, staff and student mobility, joint supervisor and joint lecturer which will take place in 2025.
The Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, and his entourage then carried out benchmarking for the management of honey bees and honey products at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), a university which is in 146th position in the QS World University Rankings. The group’s arrival was welcomed by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, School of Medical Sciences, USM.
Some of the agenda is to see and learn how to design honey bee hives, how to cultivate, how to harvest, how to reduce the water content of honey and testing the quality of honey.
After leaving USM, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University and his entourage continued their journey to Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) Jeli Campus, a university that occupies position 821-840 in the QS Sustainable Rankings. The agenda carried out at UMK is the initiation of collaboration in the field of joint research and joint publication and the initiation of collaboration in staff and student mobility.
The visit ended at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), a university that occupies 148th position in the QS World University Rankings. Several things discussed during this visit were discussions of the 2025 joint conference, discussions of joint research and joint publications and discussions of joint publications.
The activity lasts for 7 (seven) days, starting from the 6th to June 12, 2024 in Malaysia.
