Tamalanrea-Makassar. The Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas) through the Partnership, Research and Innovation Division held a Workshop on Improving Article Writing Competence for Lecturers. The activity took place starting at 09.00 WITA in the Senate Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, Sunday (25/8/2024).
Starting the activities of the Deputy Dean for Partnership, Research and Innovation, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Syahidah, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D. In his speech, he said that this activity aims to help lecturers improve their competence in writing good and correct articles. And thank you for the presence of the speakers at this activity.
“Thank you for the presence of resource persons at this activity, we really hope that this activity can help lecturers at the Faculty of Forestry Unhas in writing the best articles and of course can encourage the acceleration and increase in lecturers’ publications,” explained Syahidah.
Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU. was present to give a speech and open the activity, in his speech he expressed his thanks to the two resource persons who had attended this activity, he hoped that through this activity he could increase lecturers’ publications.
“I really hope that through this activity and the assistance from the two resource persons, we can help our lecturers improve their article writing competence and increase our lecturers’ publications,” explained A. Mujetahid.
After the speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, officially opened the activity and continued with the presentation of material from the resource person.
Present as a resource person were Prof. Dr. Widya Fatriasari, S.Hut., M.M. (Researcher from the BRIN Center for Biomass and Bioproducts) presented material with the theme “How to Write Scientific Manuscripts for International Journals” and Antonio Di Martino, Ph.D. (Lecturer at Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russian Federation) presented material on the theme “Writing Research Paper”.
Prof. Dr. Widya Fatriasari in his material conveyed about scientific publications consisting of international journals, national journals and predatory journals.
Several things make it necessary for research articles to be published in international journals, namely recognition of work, enabling you to become an effective science communicator, international reputation enabling collaboration and work opportunities, as well as the main requirements for performance assessment.
“Published research articles aim to reveal something new. Articles that can be published are articles that have interesting and useful ideas, are original and innovative,” explained Prof. Widya.
Some research that is good and worthy of publication is feasible, interesting, up-to-date, ethical and relevant, follows a systematic and appropriate research methodology (qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods), uses relevant empirical data and appropriate data analysis methods, avoids falsification , fabrication, plagiarism and others.
The activity continued smoothly until 12.00 and ended with a group discussion session.
