Release of YAKU-PAYOPAYO Consortium MBKM Students, WD 1: Make Good Use of This Opportunity

The Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas) held a release event for students of the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program of the Independent YAKU PAYO-PAYO Consortium. The activity took place starting at 13.30 WITA in the Senate Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, Friday (23/8/2024).

Starting the activities of the Head of the Forestry Study Program, Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Dr. Ir. Sitti Nuraeni, M.P. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the YAKU-PAYOPAYO Consortium for implementing the program “Strengthening the Resilience of Social Forestry Groups to Climate Change through Adaptive Coffee Development” which was packaged in the MBKM program involving students from the Faculty of Forestry.

“I hope that students from the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, can take part and carry out this activity well, considering that the number of course credits that will be converted is quite large, namely 24 credits, hopefully the knowledge and experience gained in the field will be much greater and provide benefits for the future compared to carrying out lectures in class,” explained

Furthermore, the Head of the Forestry Study Program said that the knowledge that has been gained in the classroom can be implemented in the field so that it can help more partners who have facilitated this MBKM program.

On this occasion, the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Dr. Ir. Syamsu Rijal, S.Hut., M.Sc., IPU. In his speech, he said that while implementing MBKM, Unhas Faculty of Forestry students continued to maintain the good name of the alma mater and helped many partners, in this case the YAKU-PAYOPAYO Consortium, which provided the opportunity to implement MBKM in North Toraja.

“Congratulations to the 30 students from the Faculty of Forestry Unhas who successfully passed the selection for the YAKU-PAYOPAYO Consortium MBKM program, I hope that during the 6 months of implementing MBKM you can learn a lot and make good use of this opportunity as a place to study to gain more knowledge and practice in field,” said Syamsu Rijal.

On the same occasion, the Director of the YAKU-PAYOPAYO Consortium, Angga Pratama Syamsuddin, in his speech expressed his gratitude to the Unhas Forestry Faculty for being willing to be a partner in implementing the MBKM program.

“Thank you, Faculty of Forestry Unhas, for being willing to be our partner in implementing the YAKU-PAYOPAYO Consortium MBKM program and sending 30 students to be involved in this program. I hope that the PAYOPAYO Consortium MBKM participants can feel at home and comfortable in participating and implementing this program,” explained Angga Pratama.

Angga Pratama further said that he would present and involve course coordinators in every discussion about this program, and for future projects we would invite MBKM students to join to be more active. One of the programs that will be implemented is the village information program.

After the welcoming speech, the activity continued with the handing over of the names of the MBKM participants of the YAKU-PAYOPAYO Consortium which were handed over directly by the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Forestry, to the Director of the PAYOPAYO Consortium.
