The Chancellor of Hasanuddin University Officially Accepts Inbound Students from the Faculty of Forestry from the National University of Singapore

Tamalanrea-Makassar. Chancellor of Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc. accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU., Chief of Forest and Society Research Group (FSRG) Faculty of Forestry Unhas, Prof. Dr. forests. Muhammad Alif KS., S.Hut., M.Si. and Head of the Unhas Secretariat, Dr. Sawedi Muhammad, M.Sc. officially accepting inbound students from the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, from the National University of Singapore.

The activity took place starting at 10.00 WITA in the Lounge Room on the 8th Floor of the Unhas Tamalanrea Campus Rectorate Building, Makassar, Tuesday (2/7/2024).

A total of 11 people from the National University of Singapore consisting of 1 accompanying lecturer, 1 staff, 1 student assistant and 8 students from multidisciplinary sciences were officially accepted by the Chancellor of Unhas and will take part in the Global Experience (GEx) Course Sulawesi 2024 activities.

Global Experience (GEx) Course Sulawesi 2024 is a collaboration between the National University of Singapore and the Faculty of Forestry Unhas through the Forest and Society Research Group which will be carried out in several places in South Sulawesi, including Maros Regency, Toraja Regency and Bulukumba Regency.

This activity aims to strengthen collaboration between universities in growth and innovation in the field of education. GEx Sulawesi this time will explore cultural, social and environmental changes related to rapid economic development in Sulawesi.

Starting the activity, GEx Sulawesi Lecturer, Dr. Ryan Tans in his speech expressed his appreciation to the Chancellor of Unhas, the Dean and the Forest and Society Research Group Team, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, who welcomed our arrival.

“We are very excited about this collaboration, where Hasanuddin University students will take part in the Asian Undergraduate Singapore (AUS) 2024 activities organized by NUS in Singapore from 1 to 13 July 2024, while our students will take part in the Global Experience Course (GEx) Sulawesi 2024 activities ,” said Dr. Ryan Tans.

On the same occasion, the Chancellor of Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Prof. Dr. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc. In his speech, he said that this collaboration was quite interesting because the participants were not only from forestry science disciplines but also multidisciplinary sciences.

“The Unhas Forestry Faculty is extraordinary because it always organizes interesting activities and of course involves students from abroad. I hope that activities like this can continue because this activity is one way to support the achievement of IKU for inbound students as well as supporting the achievement of Unhas World Class University ( WCU),” explained Prof. Jamaluddin.

The activity which lasted until 12.00 WITA ended with a group photo session.
