Tompobulu-Maros Regency. The Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), through the Academic and Student Affairs Sector, held the XLVII Forester Night and Work Camp (PKMR) with the theme “Developing the Character of Resilient, Adaptive and Professional Foresters in Supporting Sustainable Nation and Forest Development”. The activity was opened directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU.
The activity took place starting at 19.00 WITA in Bara-Barayya Hamlet, Tompobulu District, Maros Regency, Monday (1/7/2024).
Present at this activity was the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU. Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Dr. Ir. Syamsu Rijal, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., Deputy Dean for Partnership, Research and Innovation, Faculty of Forestry Unhas, Syahidah, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D., Head of Faculty Administration Section Unhas Forestry, Ruth Eppi Lobo, S.Sos., Head of Sub-directorate of Student Institutions, Directorate of Student Affairs Unhas, Muhammad Irdam Ferdiansah, S.E., M.Acc., Ph.D., lecturer and education staff at the Faculty of Forestry Unhas, as well as representatives from KPH Bulusaraung. Starting the activity, Chair of the PKMR XLVII Committee, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Wardiman Mas’ud, S.Hut., M.Hut. In his report, he expressed his thanks to the leadership of the Unhas Forestry Faculty, the Head of KPH Bulusaraung, the PKMR XLVII committee and all parties who had helped and supported so that this activity could be carried out well.
“PKMR activities are a small window into the general picture for friends as prospective foresters. PKMR is here because there is a history and values of the forestry team that must be in your soul,” explained Wardiman.
Wardiman Mas’ud hopes that this activity can become a learning platform for students in the field, gaining a lot of knowledge and experience that can be used and utilized in everyday life and provide benefits to society.
This activity was attended by students from the class of 2023 with a total of 365 participants, including 250 women and 115 men.
Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Dr. Ir. Syamsu Rijal, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU. In his speech, he expressed his thanks to all parties who had helped the process of implementing this activity, especially the Maros Regency Government and the Medical Assistance Team (TBM) of the Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University.
“I hope that this activity can be followed well by students, all the knowledge and experience gained while participating in the activity can later be applied in everyday life,” explained Syamsu Rijal
He further said that one of the activities that PKMR XLVII participants would carry out was to help map the distribution of palm sugar to make it easier for the community to utilize palm sugar in Bonto Manurung Village, Tompobulu District, Maros Regency.
On the same occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the Head of Bonto Manurung Village who had approved PKMR XLVII activities to be carried out at this location.
PKMR is one of the prestigious events at the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, and has been held 47 times. This activity is an opportunity to build and establish togetherness between lecturers, education staff, alumni and students. This activity is also a process of forming a strong forester character.
“I hope that this activity will not be a burden for students but will be enjoyed and put to good use because there will definitely be a lot of new knowledge and experience that can be gained through this activity,” explained A. Mujetahid.
Furthermore, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry said that you should all be proud as Unhas Forestry students because the Faculty of Forestry is a faculty that has succeeded in occupying position 301 in the QS World Ranking by Subject.
