Makassar, 21 February 2026 – A warm and heartfelt atmosphere marked the Iftar Gathering and Alumni Reunion of IKA SMAN 6 Makassar, held at the Faculty of Forestry Universitas Hasanuddin. More than 300 invited guests, consisting of teachers and alumni from various graduating years, attended the event, filling the venue and turning the evening into a meaningful and vibrant reunion.
Hosted by MC Munawiroh, the event carried the theme “A Blessed Ramadan, A Million Lessons Through Silaturahmi.” The theme reflected the spirit of togetherness among cross-generational alumni in nurturing bonds of brotherhood during the holy month of Ramadan. The Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, A. Mujetahid M. (Class of 1987), served as host and person in charge of the event.

In his remarks, the Dean expressed appreciation and gratitude to all alumni in attendance. He emphasized that the gathering was more than just a reunion—it was a strategic space to strengthen networks and foster meaningful contributions. “We sincerely thank all alumni for being present. This silaturahmi not only strengthens our emotional bonds but also builds networks that empower one another. Like bees protecting their colony, alumni must support each other to remain strong, productive, and beneficial,” he stated.
The Dean also introduced the Faculty of Forestry as a unit committed to developing a Zone of Integrity, promoting transparent and accountable governance. He highlighted the Faculty’s academic achievement, ranked 251–300 globally in the QS World University Rankings by Subject in Agriculture and Forestry, as evidence of its dedication to maintaining quality and institutional reputation.

The event was attended by former Chairpersons of IKA SMAN 6, including Dr. Muhallis, Dr. Latunreng, dr. Muhammad Ridho, and Rudianto Lallo, who currently serves as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (Commission III) representing the Makassar electoral district. They delivered remarks emphasizing the importance of alumni solidarity and strengthening social contributions within the community. The current Chairperson, Ir. Asriadi, was also present at the gathering.
In his religious lecture titled “The Privilege of Bees: A Perspective of Science and Spirituality,” the Dean reflected on the philosophy of bees living in a single colony—protecting one another and producing honey that benefits many. He emphasized that honey is not only nourishment for the body but also a lesson for the soul and character, reminding alumni to preserve the values of cooperation and loyalty within the association.
The series of activities extended beyond the communal iftar, continuing with congregational Isya and Tarawih prayers. This shared spiritual experience further strengthened the sense of unity and brotherhood, serving as a reminder that to preserve this legacy and togetherness, all alumni must collectively safeguard the “big home” of IKA SMAN 6 Makassar with enduring solidarity and sustained contribution.
