Tamalanrea-Makassar. The Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), through the Academic and Student Affairs Division, held a preparatory meeting for the implementation of Forestalent 2025. The activity took place starting at 13.00 WITA in the Senate Room on the 2nd Floor of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, Thursday (5/9/2025).
Forestalent is a national-level competition held annually by the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, and will be held again in October 2025. The committee has made preparations for the event, including finalizing various types of competitions.
Starting the activity, the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Syamsu Rijal, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU. in his remarks said that this year’s forestalent was slightly different because there were additional types of competitions, namely a cleanliness competition between laboratories and Student Activity Units (UKM) within the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas and sports competitions.
“We added a cleanliness competition between laboratories and UKMs to this year’s Forestalent activities with the aim of encouraging each laboratory and UKM to continue maintaining and improving their respective cleanliness. We did this considering that cleanliness is also one of the assessment items for the development of the Unhas Faculty of Forestry’s integrity zone towards WBK, so cooperation from all parties is needed to maintain the cleanliness of our faculty,” explained Prof. Syamsu Rijal.
Furthermore, Prof. Syamsu Rijal hopes that this activity can be carried out well and of course can have a positive impact on the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, in this case, improving student achievement.
On this occasion, the Chair of the 2025 Forestalent Committee, Dian Ayu Lestari Hasanuddin, S.Hut., M.Si., presented several Forestalent competition items, including debate, videography, photography, posters, essays, and so on.
