Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) are two things that discuss sustainability, but they are different in focus, implementation and target audience. SDGs address broader global challenges and involve more stakeholders, whereas ESGs are more company-specific and investor-focused.

“ESG prioritizes environmental issues, social issues and corporate governance, this framework is used by investors and companies to assess the sustainability and ethical impact of company operations and investments,” explained Prof. Wan Mohd. Nazri Wan Abdul Rahman.

Furthermore, Prof. Wan Mohd. Nazri Wan Abdul Rahman explained that as more and more companies adopt ESG principles and experience the financial and social benefits, they can become powerful agents of positive change. This moves us closer to a world where ESG is not just an aspirational goal, but a concrete reality and benefits everyone.

After the presentation of the material, the activity continued with a question and answer session. This activity was attended by 150 student lecturers, and continued smoothly until 12.00 WITA.
