Pekanbaru-Riau. Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P. was elected as Chair of the Indonesian Forestry College Communication Forum (FOReTIKA) for the 2024-2027 term at the FOReTIKA Congress which took place at the Pangeran Pekanbaru Hotel on 25 to 2027. September 27, 2024.
The FOReTIKA Congress was officially opened by the Director General of Forestry Planning and Environmental Management (PKTL) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Dr. Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, S. Hut. M.P.
FOReTIKA is a communication forum for sharing the latest ideas and innovations and discussing policy recommendations related to forestry in Indonesia, which currently has 68 universities as members.
The results of the congress elected Dr. A. Mujetahid M., S. Hut. MP as Chair of FOReTIKA by acclamation, for the term of 2027. Dr. Mujetahid is the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas.
On this occasion, Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S. Hut, M.P. as the elected chairman in his speech revealed that in the future FOReTIKA has several work programs, including: Strengthening Communication Media and Databases, Strengthening the Curriculum, Assistance in Proposing Forest Areas with Special Purposes (KHDTK), Assistance in Accreditation of Study Programs, and Implementation of Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) Independent within the scope of FOReTIKA.
“I hope that the work program during my term of office can run well, and provide benefits to all forestry universities throughout Indonesia and bring FOReTIKA to a better future,” explained Dr. A. Mujetahid.
Furthermore, the elected Chair of FOReTIKA said that these duties and responsibilities would be carried out well, and guaranteed that this work program would become a forum for strengthening collaboration and cooperation for all forestry universities throughout Indonesia.
This congress was combined with national seminar activities with the theme “The Role of Forestry Universities in Supporting the Achievement of FOLU Net Sink 2030”, a forestry study program curriculum workshop and visits to PT industry. Riau Mainstay Pulp and Paper.
The 2024 FOReTIKA Congress was attended by leaders and representatives from 45 forestry universities throughout Indonesia.
