To Improve Lecturers’ Capacity in Compiling Proposals, the Faculty of Forestry Holds a Community Service Proposal Compilation Workshop

Tamalanrea-Makassar. The Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), through its Partnership, Research, Innovation, and Alumni Division, held a workshop on developing high-quality community service proposals. The event began at 9:00 a.m. WITA in the Senate Meeting Room on the second floor of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Tuesday (July 22, 2025).

In her remarks, the Deputy Dean for Partnership, Research, Innovation, and Alumni of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Prof. Syahidah, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed her gratitude for the speakers’ attendance. She also stated that this activity is crucial for lecturers in assisting and facilitating their capacity to develop community service proposals.

“I hope that this activity can be well utilized by the lecturers in making community service proposals, bearing in mind that the funding for the service program is open, so we have high hopes that many proposals will pass,” explained Prof. Martyrdom.

Furthermore, Prof. Syahidah said that the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, is always ready to facilitate lecturers to encourage increased capacity in proposal writing and of course, to be able to pass funding.

Present as a resource person, Prof. Ir. Suharman Hamzah, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., HSE.Cert. presented material related to community service programs consisting of community-based empowerment, entrepreneurship-based empowerment, and region-based empowerment.

Before carrying out community service activities, it is necessary to identify the problems faced by the community, namely those affected by the social impact of layoffs, those who do not have a business unit and those who have small and medium businesses.

“The target partners in community service activities are economically productive and economically unproductive community groups. The main goal of community service activities is to improve economic and social aspects,” explained Prof. Suharman.

Sustainability in community service includes the preparation of programs that are not incidental, providing product manufacturing training starting from material preparation to the sales process, providing equipment that can be used for a relatively long period of time, providing equipment that is appropriate to the capabilities and needs of the target community and sustainable organizational arrangements.

The activity ran smoothly until 11.00 WITA and ended with a discussion session and group photo.
