Towards a Corruption-Free Zone, the Faculty of Forestry at Hasanuddin University Holds Another Integrity Zone Socialization Event

Tamalanrea-Makassar. The Faculty of Forestry at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) once again held a socialization event on the development of an integrity zone toward a Corruption-Free Area (WBK). The event began at 10:00 a.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time) via Zoom on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Kicking off the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P., IPU., in his remarks, stated that services at the Faculty of Forestry are increasingly fast, both academic and non-academic.

“The barcode service is one of the innovations of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, which greatly accelerates and simplifies academic and non-academic administrative services. Students no longer need to meet with staff to create their letters. They simply scan the barcode and staff will process the letters they need,” explained Prof. Mujetahid.

Present as a resource person, Ishaq Rahman, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D. in his material conveyed the operational framework for building an integrity zone including good university governance, bureaucratic reform, integrity zones, corruption-free areas, clean bureaucratic areas serving and excellent service.

The integrity zone concept consists of two components: Integrity zones are a crucial instrument in bureaucratic reform, guiding public institutions toward creating a transparent, accountable, and high-integrity work environment. Integrity zones are designed to prevent all forms of corruption.

“The integrity zone is not just a slogan, but rather a system that requires all components of the university to collaborate in creating mechanisms to prevent corruption, improve service quality, and strengthen institutional performance,” explained Ishaq Rahman.

The three focus targets of the integrity zone are integrity, excellent public service and capability.
