The Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas) hosted the Unhas Movement for Study and Congregational Prayer (GUMSB) activities. This GUMSB implementation carries the theme “The Wisdom of the Night of Lailatul Qadr and Its Socio-Religious-Spiritual Influence”.
The activity took place starting at 15.15 WITA at the Ash Shahabi Mosque, Unhas Forestry Complex, and was connected directly virtually via zoom meeting, Thursday (20/3/2025).
GUMSB activities begin with the reading of the holy verses of the Koran which are read by students as GUMSB participants in turn.
Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Syamsul Rijal, S.Hut., M.Sc., IPU. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the management of GUMSB Unhas for trusting the Faculty of Forestry Unhas to be the host.
“Thank you for the trust given to us to host the implementation of the Unhas Movement for Studying and Congregational Prayer activities. I hope that the material presented by the presenters regarding the wisdom of the night of Lailatul Qadar and its social, religious and spiritual influence can provide benefits for all of us,” said Prof. Syamsu Rijal.
Furthermore, Prof. Syamsu Rijal said that the GUMSB Unhas activities which are routinely held every week are very important and beneficial for all academics and Unhas students as a means of reminder and self-reflection to get closer to the Almighty Creator.
On the same occasion, the Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Development and Finance, Unhas, Prof. Subehan, S.Sc., MPharm., SC., Ph.D., Apt. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the dean, leadership, lecturers and staff as well as students of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, for supporting and being willing to be organizers and facilitate the needs of implementing GUMSB activities.
“GUMSB is a religious activity that is routinely carried out every week by Unhas. This activity is a very important part for all of us to take a moment to reflect on ourselves and remind each other that after this worldly life there is an afterlife where we are eternal and all our actions during our lives will be accounted for before Allah Ta’ala,” explained Prof. Subehan.
Furthermore, Prof. Subehan said that he hopes that through this activity there will be many benefits and can make us all closer to the Almighty Creator.
Present as a resource person, Ustadz Dr. Ahmad Mujahid, M.Ag. In his material, he conveys several main contents contained in Surah Al-Qadar, one of which is that the night of Al-Qadar is the time chosen by Allah as the time when the Qur’an was revealed and the night when the angels were sent down with Allah’s permission to take care of all matters.
“The true meaning of interaction with the Qur’an is to be aware of Allah’s presence when interacting with the Qur’an, when a servant reads, hears, memorizes, memorizes and recites the verses of the Qur’an, the servant actually realizes that Allah is present speaking to him,” explained Ustadz Ahmad.
The activity went smoothly and ended with breaking the fast and Maghrib prayer in congregation.
