Tamalanrea-Makassar. The Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University (Unhas) through the Partnership, Research, Innovation and Alumni Division held a workshop on preparing research proposals for lecturers to obtain funding both nationally and internationally. The activity took place starting at 13.00 WITA in the Senate Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Unhas Forestry Faculty, Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar and was connected directly via the zoom meeting platform, Friday (14/3/2025).
Starting the activities of the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude for the presence of the resource persons at this activity and said that this activity was very important in helping lecturers prepare research proposals so that they could easily pass and obtain funding both on a national and international scale.
“Thank you for the presence of resource persons at this activity. I hope that the material presented on proposal preparation techniques can help our lecturers to be more active and productive in making good and correct research proposals so that they can easily get funding,” explained Prof. Mujetahid.
Furthermore, Prof. Mujetahid said that he hoped that through this activity lecturers at the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, would be more motivated and productive in making proposals to increase the number of proposals that passed national and international funding by 2025.
Present as a resource person, Prof. Mohammad Basyuni, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Lecturer and Researcher, University of North Sumatra, USU) delivered material on techniques for preparing proposals to obtain innovation and Intellectual Property (KI) grants from both national and international funding, research collaborations and applying for research grants on a national and international scale.
Prof. Basyuni said that a good and correct proposal must be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. These 5 elements are very important and must be present in the proposal.
“Tips for getting funding are to make a research proposal, follow the rules that have been set and according to the guidelines and understand how to select,” explained Prof. Basyuni.
In carrying out research collaboration, a partner or research partner is needed. Information and tips for finding partners or research partners are through the peer group network of each researcher, looking for collaborators on the website the-easia.org/jrp, having similar publications and research, and searching through scientific meetings or conferences.
The activity went smoothly until 15.00 WITA and ended with a group discussion.
